How is stressed skin different from normal, healthy skin?

When stress is unrelenting, your body's hormone and chemical levels can spike, adversely affecting the skin and how it functions. Oil production increases. Histamines trigger itchiness and inflammation. Water, oxygen and nutrients are drawn away from the skyn, depriving it of the vital elements it needs to thrive. Why are antioxidants so important to skyn ICELAND™'s formulations?

As part of their normal function, cells make toxic molecules, called free radicals. A free radical is a damaged molecule - it's missing an electron. Because the free radical molecule "wants" its full complement of electrons, it reacts with any molecule from which it can take an electron. By taking an electron from certain key components in the cell, free radicals damage cells.

As cell damage accumulates, it may contribute to the premature aging of skin. Antioxidants like arctic berries, green, yellow and white teas, and vitamins A, C, E and K found in skyn ICELAND™ products block this damage by giving the missing electron to free radicals so they leave the other cells alone and keep them healthy.

What are the anti-inflammatories and what do they do?

Anti-inflammatories in the skyn ICELAND™ line include yeast extract, white willow bark, and Icelandic kelp. These are all-natural ingredients that calm and soothe the skin.

Is skyn ICELAND™ best for normal, oily or dry skin types?

skyn ICELAND™ is designed for all skin types. It is especially effective for skin that is sensitive and/or prone to breakouts.

Was skyn ICELAND™ developed for a certain age group?

No. Stress does not discriminate by age. skyn ICELAND™ was developed for skins of all ages. It happens to be great for "hormonal" skin (women in their 50's or 60's).

What is "oxygen-infused"?

Oxygen is encapsulated in liposomes, which are small vehicles that are readily able to penetrate skin. They deliver oxygen directly to the cells - which essentially gives skin a breath of fresh air. This helps fortify cells and brings a glow and radiance to skin.

Do all the products need to be used together to be effective?

No. Of course, best results will be achieved by using the line in harmony together, but all products may be added to an already existing skincare regime to experience positive results.

What is Lipospray technology?

With Lipospray, the liposomal suspension is sprayed into the mouth and under the tongue. The liposomes penetrate the tissue under the tongue, and the nutrients are absorbed into the body in minutes. This path bypasses the digestive system. Conventional pills, tablets and liquids must travel through the digestive system in order to deliver active ingredients to the body - this means that a % of the active ingredients are detoured to waste removal.

Each of the core products contains an ingredient called white willow bark (Cleanser, Mist, ANTIDOTE, Night Cream) which is a natural anti-bacterial and analgesic. Used daily, these products help destroy bacteria and clear clogged pores. Over time, skin is clear, smooth and more even-toned. The natural anti-inflammatories, such as yeast extract, help calm the redness and irritation associated with acne.

Why is the skyn ICELAND™ Glacial Face Wash so special?

• The cleanser is great for all skin types and deep cleans without stripping, while moisturizing and soothing without leaving a filmy residue.
• Our cleanser is detergent-free and contains a natural oat and amino acid based surfactant system (most cleansers have a chemical surfactant system like sodium laureth sulfate. Not us!) That makes the cleanser great even for the most sensitive skin.
• The Glacial Face Wash is great at removing face makeup, however we don't recommend it for removing eye makeup...even though a cleanser is gentle on the skin, it doesn't mean it's good for the eye area!
